startGBC #WhyNotMe Panel Discussions Help Inspire Students to Pursue Entrepreneurship

March 31, 2018 by startGBC

Shannon Judge, Dymika Harte, Stuart Campbell, and Christopher Paunil discuss the obstacles they faced in their entrepreneurial journeys at the Casa Loma #WhyNotMe speaker series.

startGBC hosted two #WhyNotMe Speaker Series at the Casa Loma and St. James campus. The #WhyNotMe speaker series gives George Brown College students the opportunity to learn more about entrepreneurship from real entrepreneurs.

The Casa Loma #WhyNotMe panel discussion included panelists Shannon Judge, the founder of Refocused, a a service-based company that offers organizational and management services to clients who are renovating their home to suit their new lifestyle; Dymike Harte, the founder of UNSGND, an all-female creative agency; Christopher Paunil, the co-founder of Christopher Paunil Designs, a luxury bridal fashion brand; and Stuart Campbell, the founder of Passen, an apparel company that uses world leading fit technology to help people find their right size of clothing when shopping online.

The St. James #WhyNotMe panel discussion – partnered with student club S.W.A.G. (Students With African Genes) – included panelists Aisha Addo, the founder of Power to Girls Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers young girls mentors and role models; Monah Water, the founder of Majestic Wisdom, a Toronto-based premium lifestyle brand with a creative cultural edge; and once again, Dymika heart, the founder of UNSGND, an all-female creative agency.

Each panel discussion provided wisdom and understanding into the world of entrepreneurship, giving George Brown College students better insight into what it takes to be an entrepreneur and how anyone has the power to start their own business!

startGBC would like to give a special thanks to all of the panelists who volunteered their time to speak with GBC students!

Stay tuned for more upcoming #WhyNotMe speaker events.
