What made you want to become an entrepreneur?
I strongly believe in the value of independent creative communities in Canada, which are largely underrepresented in the mainstream. Starting INLAND was my way of addressing the gap in how we honour, leverage, and invest in local design.
Why did you create your business?
I have a deep respect for the arts and design community in Canada. My work with INLAND is committed to promoting sustainable collections, advocating for diverse representation, and empowering local voices.
What successes have you enjoyed so far with building your company?
INLAND has featured over 500 Canadian independent brands and businesses at over 20 popups since launching in 2014. In 2020, INLAND launched an eComm shop in partnership with Hudson’s Bay which has been a huge step forward in fore-fronting Canadian design.
What is one piece of advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs?
Be brave enough to think with your heart and act with insight.
