George Brown and MAKO Invent are thrilled to announce the first ever annual MAKO @GeorgeBrown Invention Awards. Over $10,000 in cash prizes and in-kind services will be awarded to the top three applicants, which will be announced at the awards ceremony on April 10, 2015 held in conjunction with the Final Project Showcase Event for the School of Engineering at George Brown College! The awards will be held from 10am-2pm at the Casa Loma Campus, 1 Dartnell, the Green Building Centre’s Main Lobby. Students will get the chance to showcase their inventions to potential industry partners, George Brown faculty, investors, and product distributors.

MAKO Invent encourages new inventors across all fields to take that ‘what if’ idea and submit their application starting on January 26, 2015 and no later than March 25, 2015. The Invention Awards are meant to encourage new inventors to dream, design and build something innovative and ground-breaking!

On Thursday, February 19th from 12:00-1:00pm there will be information and networking event for all students interested in learning about this outstanding award. The event will provide details about the application process, the judging process, and encourage project collaboration by students from various departments. The event will take place at Career Centre Workshop Room (Room C317) at George Brown College. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity, with an added bonus to meet Vice President of MAKO Invent, James Chalmers!
