Information Sessions will be held on September 13th (1 pm) and September 15th (10 am). Both programs are open and free to anyone interested in starting their own business.
The DAY PROGRAM starts September 19th with a 2 week phase to help you learn to research and test the viability of your idea and the market using the Lean Canvas approach. Then you actually do a research assignment and present your findings on October 6th if you want to continue into the second phase of the program.
The second phase begins on October 11th and runs for 6 weeks ending on November 17th. During this second phase you will learn to develop and/or revise your business plan and launch your new business.
Classes are from 9:30 am till 3:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for both phases.
The program also includes 1 on 1 coaching, peer support groups, networking events and continued follow up help as you launch your business.
Only this Day Program qualifies for:
1. Possible youth grants of up to $3000, (youth = 20-29 years).
2. Ontario Works support, (please speak to your worker first!).
The NIGHT PROGRAM runs from 6 – 8:30pm on Wednesday evenings from September 28th till November 30th and provides training re: the necessary components of a Business Plan and how to both develop the plan and launch your business. The coaching, networking, and follow up mentioned above are included as well.
Information Sessions are scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday September 13th at 1pm and the morning of Thursday September 15th at 10am. Attendance at 1 of these is required for the Day Program as we will discuss the programs further and include an application/interview component for those interested in applying.
