Mowak Summit Speaker Series

Mohawk Centre for Entrepreneurship – Summit Speaker Series Session “Getting Started and Building Your Business”, Tuesday, February 9th @12pm

We couldn’t be more excited at the composition of this panel for its expertise, personalities, and notable stories. A bit more on our panellists:

Holly Webster – Owner and Chief Operating Officer, Still Dynamics

https://www.stilldynamics.ca/

She’s back! Holly was a panellist on our very first session on the Provincial Lockdown and has become a bit of a celebrity within our Centre community! Her raw and honest story on the challenges of opening and maintaining her business really struck a chord with our participants.

Holly is the founder of Still Dynamics Classical Osteopathy in Oakville and Brantford. Her Oakville location features the first walk-in Osteopath Clinic in Canada as well as other services like Naturalpathy, Massage, and Spa Services.

Max Francis – Founder, True Hamiltonian

https://www.truehamiltonian.ca/

Max is the founder of the brand “True Hamiltonian.” He has been able to successfully make his brand and product into a calling card for the city and a source of pride for everyone who lives in our community.

What is also so notable about Max is that he literally “is” his brand. His passion, exuberance, and commitment to his community is a great partner to his True Hamiltonian product.

Max will be able to provide participants with a fantastic perspective on taking an idea to market while building his own personal identity.

Nasir Ishmail – Owner, Wet Paint Services

https://wetpaintservices.com/

Nasir’s story is one of having courage in his convictions and betting on himself; two crucial elements to being an Entrepreneur. He is also a great example of always being open to taking risks and bold steps to truly define and execute a vision as an entrepreneur.

Nasir’s approach to business and commitment to customer service has always been at the core of any of his business ventures. This is exemplified by his company; Wet Paint Services just last week being named a Canada Prestige Award winner for business excellence.

Areas of Discussion

Our session will continue to be an informal discussion, with panellists discussing their experiences from a few interesting perspectives:

  • Their decision to be an entrepreneur…was this always the plan?
  • Was the early going like? Any regrets?
  • How have you and your business changed?
  • What are the biggest lessons you have learned?
